Among our aims there is to spread digital knowledge of writing in wider and wider sphere – by this to create the basic knowledge which becomes more and more inevitable, as who is illiterate in digital writing in the 21st century gets into such a disadvantageous situation in getting information, processing and transmitting it that cannot be offset. Today’s office cannot be imagined without quick softwares helping precise work. These programmes are inevitable but are worth nothing alone – there is need for man, who can make use of these possibilities maximally.
Digital knowledge of writing at the level of skills beside practical informatical knowledge ensures also possibility for individual (professional) development. Because of the quick development of informatics it is not possible to hand over such a knowledge which can ensure the need for knowledge of graduated students for long years. But we can give a stable basis on which one can build during lifelong learning and by which we can ensure the possibility for continuous further training and development.
Being conscious of the professional responsibility towards civil society, Neumann János Computer Science Society started a movement named “digital equal chances” the local organization of which is run by us. Joining up, to overcome digital illiteracy as soon as it is possible, to realize equal chances for those who live in handicapped regions and to spread culture in informatics in wider and wider spheres can be reached only with the help of social cooperation.
